CLASSES for YOUTH entering 6th- 12th grades offered September 9, 2007- May 18, 2008
 
On the Path
10:30 a.m. - 6th and 7th grades
On the Path encourages middle school aged youth to take their own faith seriously and personally. This group focuses on faith in action. Shelter Rock "Questing Year" curriculum combined with a focus on social justice, environment, and personal exploration is the core of this two-year cycle of programming Primary Resources:
  • A Questing Year
  • UU Ministry for the Earth
  • Traditions With a Wink
  • Living in UUVille
  • Paradigms Lost and Regained
 
Coming of Age (COA) for youth in 8th and 9th grades
COA is a nine month program of exploration and personal beliefs and religious practices.  During the year youth meet most Sunday mornings from 10:30 to 12 noon and at occasional additional events.  Through games, discussion, art experiences, and more members of this group support one another in persuing their own "free and responsible searches for truth and meaning."  In the spring, this group creates a worship service for the congregation.
Our Whole Lives (OWL) Human Sexuality is slated for 2008-09 for youth in 8th and 9th grades

 

Senior High Religious Education
10:30 a.m. - 10th, 11th, and 12th grades
Our class in 2007-08 will include "Freedom and Responsibility," Unitarian Universalist curriculum focused on the realities of drugs and personal choices based on our UU values.  This offering requires parent permission and parent attendance at an orientation session.  Begins late September.
